THE KEEP Phuket Clean campaign is hoping to encourage about 7000 people to tackle debris and litter on the beaches from 3pm on July 2.
It will be the second outing by the community campaigners who tidied 20 locations in May, pleasing tourists and locals alike.
Phuket schools, charitable organisations, the construction industry and local government have joined in growing numbers.
The second outing will add locations on the east coast beaches of Chalong, Phuket City and the marinas stretching up to the Sarasin Bridge.
Nick Anthony, spokesperson for the Summer in Phuket campaign, said: ''We can't let the momentum wane. Our goal is not just a one-time clean up but an ongoing waste management model so each beach community can accomplish this task year round.
''We need longer term solutions, sometimes privately funded, put in place on all Phuket's beaches.''
Methee Tanmanatragul, president of the Thai Hotels Association Southern chapter, and owner of the Rising Sun residence in Chalong, is a supporter of the campaign.
''The next cleanup on July 2 is well supported by Phuket hotels and the local community and I look forward to seeing long term results and a more environmentally aware and eco-friendly Phuket.''
If the weather doesn't cooperate the event will take place the following day, July 3.
