PHUKET'S Boat Show attracted a good turnout today as the four-day marine love-in opened at Royal Phuket Marina.
Phuket Vice Governor Somkiat Sangkaosuttirat did the honors at the opening and we saw RPM owner Gulu Lalvani hopping on board a boat or two, just to show other patrons how to become nautical.
Our eyes fell on a sleek-lined baby named Desire for a mere 300 million baht. Then we moved inside the exhibition hall to check out some of the jet-skis that were a fraction of that price.
Would the Patong jet-ski operators be here at some stage to look over the latest models, we wondered.
There appeared to be some exhibitors who thought it was the Phuket motor show, which just goes to prove Phuket is always going to deliver surprises you didn't expect.
The boat show runs until 6pm on Sunday and stays open until 8pm on Friday and Saturday.
