ONE Phuket event that continues to win the admiring ears of an increasing band of music-lovers is the Phuket International Blues Rock Festival, which this year adds sound to the island's mix of sun and sea and fun on February 26-27.
Five years in the growing, the festival is a firm fixture and a favorite at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa, on Karon Beach.
Twelve topline acts and eight international bands are set to draw appreciative audiences of an ecclectic kind, with legendary blues artist Charlie Musselwhite and his band from the US closing the show on Saturday and popular Australian singer Richard Clapton Friday's highlight.
Profits go to support local children's education through the Rotary Club of Patong.
