Back in holiday mode after paying for lunch, the new Zealand men

New Zealand Pair Free After Settling Bill For 15,000 Baht Phuket Meal

Wednesday, September 16, 2015
PHUKET: Two New Zealand men have been freed to continue their holiday on Phuket after settling a 15,000 baht bill for a meal they neglected to pay for two years ago.

Father and son Brian Russell Finn and Luke Russell Finn were apprehended when they returned to Phuket International Airport on Monday night and handed over to Patong police.

The pair finally settled the bill yesterday and were allowed to resume their 10-day holiday once the managers at the Centara Blue Marine Resort and Spa agreed to drop the charge.

Good its been settled so they can continue there hoiliday, but its different owners now from when the charge was made, so how does that work.

The owners may not have changed but the management certainly has. Either way, the case has been resolved.

Should have been a higher amount of money, essentially they got a free loan for two years and did not pay the expenses of the staff who took action. I hear in some cases any lose like this comes out of the staff's pay who was responsible, this is why often in stores you see cashiers count the change several times.

If the money has been recovered, any penalty on staff will be restored.
