Maybe the land transport department should concentrate on poorly trained and inexperienced bus drivers as opposed to naughty fornicating foreigners. I know which one of the two has a greater priority when it concerns road safety. RIP to the bus crash victims. Life remains cheap (except for the profits being made).

A probe (pun there somewhere) has been ordered, by Thailand's Land Transport Department, into the indiscretions of a foreign couple on a bus. I'm not condoning their liaison but I wonder, will the same degree of investigation go into the much more serious incident, whereby another inexperienced driver of a bus, runs off a road and kills at least 32 people. I say another because, it would appear a huge majority of these drivers are inexperienced. Where do the priorities lie

Land transport authorities degree of "probing" into these issues, one tragic, one trivial at best, will speak volumes in terms of their ultimate priorities. "My bpen rai" should suffice for the fornicators, but don't wait with bated breath for significant changes on the roads.Until the authorities stop skewing road fatality figures, and take proactive measures to address road carnage, the abysmal situation will only be perpetuated ad nauseum.

The accident happened at 8:40 pm, not 9:40...It fell 90 metres...NOT 150...Get your facts RIGHT...!!!

Editor Comment:

Did you see the crash, Ted, check your watch, then measure the distance of the drop? No? Well in that case, I suggest you restrain your ill-informed fingers from guesswork and supposition based on second-hand reports. We will always have detractors but some of them at least do us the courtesy of thinking before making fools of themselves. As other readers have noted, we reported the crash before most other outlets. Small errors are inevitable in reporting relatively isolated events quickly. As someone who never has anything constructive to add, let me just make the point that you are free to not read what we write. All of us will then be relatively content. People who worry about minor matters never do get to grasp the important issues of life.
