Phuket taxi mafia disease well spread to Khao Lak: some fantastic report form a restaurant in Khao Lak on a road on the way to Laem Pakarang:
"Dear all guests
Due to an incident yesrerday where I was stopped by 1 of the taxi drivers in front of the Apsara beach front hotel and informed that they do not any more accept that we make this free transfer between the hotel and our restaurant we have been forced to order a minivan from the hotel to do the transfer for us.
This new procedure will have a minor cost for our guests of 10 Baht per each way per person in order not to have any more problems with the private taxis in front of the hotel.
The transfer from Apsara is now 18:00 and 19:00
Hope for your understanding and continued support of our restaurant"
"Dear all guests
Just like to add some updates to our yesterdays post.
As we inserted a taxi registered minivan the taxi drivers at the front of the Apsara hotel warned our driver and scared him so that he will not be driving anymore and also we do not like that our drivers run into problems with this type of mafia system.
In the future we will ask our guests to take a taxi from inside the Apsara hotel and not to support the drivers at the outside of the hotel
Hope for your understanding and Sorry for any inconvenience caused"
