Announcing possible black outs just isn't enough, it's easy to leave people in the dark and hot. Officials do know already about this for a long time and never came up with solutions for the consumers.

Resident, The solution has been offered; in order to reduce the threat of blackouts, authorities have asked consumers to reduce energy use, especially during peak early evening hours.
Let me add, I live very conservatively, using fans instead of AC, so it makes me a bit angry that I too may suffer blackouts when many foreigners who move to a tropical climate have to have A/C blasting at 23 degrees.

Resident: Hot? We had a power cut last night in Rawai for a couple of hours. No electricity, no mains water, just containers of cold water to wash with.

Brrr!

The Night Mare...a gold star for you for being naive and self centered to expect others to live as you do. Many people come from much cooler climates and find hot humid weather oppressive. For a country that relies heavily on foreign investment and tourism them it should provide a more stable reliable power system. Your comment simply shows you think of yourself and not others I hope you get over your "anger" before you become violent or insane.

Your usual no-substance response, Laurie, posted purely to trigger a reaction.

@Smithy: Same here and yes, hot & mad with the people responsible for this situation. Instead of offering real solutions, they suggest consuming less energy. Bad joke. I would like to see these people walking instead of using their car, when the roads are bad and need a repair...

TNM. Just have many of your fans have you been using? I thought I was the only one!

You have to laugh at the sheer stupidity of posts along the lines of 'well, we come from cooler climes and MUST be respected because (we are superior) bring so much money in'. Did you not research the climate before deciding to reside here? I live in an architect spec (farang, btw) house who I'd instructed 'no aircon' and too can see the annoyance at those who insist on 3 phase electricity and aircon blasting away all day. Why didn't you simply stay home? You must bend to the host country's climate, not the other way around. Duh.

Carrefoure stopped with an immediate effect to buy shrimps from CP until a whole supply chain will be verified in full, following "Shrimp Report" by The Guardian.

Very good that there is a reaction. Hopefully other heavy weight retailers will follow a suit, as only danger to CP's commercial interests will make them move - and there is no hope of enforcement by state so far.

Ed... an expected and typical response from you, I notice you did not comment on Tmn whose comment has little to do with what Resident said, except to pump his own ego, as me comment wasn't directed towards you, you have no right of reply, but as usual you just can't help yourself.

Jonty, the real stupidity is when people read things that simply aren't there, in fact I come from a much hotter country Australia. Turning off the power turns people off!

It's not a coup, "and says those detained 'need attitude adjustment".
