The FIFA referees let us down by letting down the technical light weighted players this world up. The game Brazil Columbia resembled sometimes more ice hockey then soccer. Awful body checks against Neymar and James R., crazy amounts of fouls and no bookings. It was the culmination of the cup wide relaxing of refereeing standards but without applying full body armor like in ice hockey. Neymar would have never been jumped like that, if the referee would have booked the other fouls more early. Even the insane knee into the back, without knowing what will hit him, did not even get a yellow card.
Football is turning into a gladiator game like American football.
Time for FIFA to bring in body armor or start to better referee protect the likes of Neymars, Oezils, James, Messis, as they are the player that bring the magic moments into football.
Neymar should have not got his WC ended like this. That is on FIFA. Now we cannot beat him on the pitch. That sucks.
Hope he will recover and get his pre back broken confidence back. Will not be easy. If at all.
