The crash at 7pm came as the final hours ticked away in Phuket's Seven Days of Danger for the Songkran New Year Holiday.
The bus was carrying the passengers on a shopping and nightlife visit from Phuket City to Phuket's west coast holiday hub.
It had just passed Patong's hilltop temple when the driver noted a mechanical failure.
After the Seven Days of Danger passed, a pickup flipped early today in the first rain of the monsoon season after the driver lost control on a wet road in Phuket City at the turn to Coconut Village.
The Seven Days of Danger recorded one death, 22 injured in 22 crashes on Phuket compared to no deaths, 26 crashes and 27 injured last year.
Could we rename this 365 days of danger on Phuket ?
