PHUKET: Soi Dog Foundation is going to organise its first ever Open Day at its shelter located in Maikhao, North of Phuket, on May 10 from 9.30am- Noon with the aim to encourage more adoptions.
To reach its goal to get 500 adoptions per year by 2016, Soi Dog Foundation is now employing additional staff to expand its adoption programs both on Phuket and in Bangkok and Buriram where it has 2000 dogs rescued from dog meat traders.
There are over 300 dogs and dozens of cats waiting for new homes at the shelter in particular.
Soi Dog has also purchased a new vehicle for the adoptions team and a competition is being organised among all local schools to design an original logo for it.
On the open morning at the Soi Dog Shelter in Maikhao, visitors can tour the shelter, talk to the resident vets and staff who will be on hand all morning to help with adoptions.
There will also be the judging of the Mobile Adoptions Vehicle logo competition with the winner announced.
