PHUKET: The new Governor of Phuket, Jamleran Tipayapongtada, produced a media note in English today to explain some of his future directions. It's the first time most can recall having a governor issue a release in the English language.
Dear Media Friends and People of Phuket
As a newly appointed Governor of Phuket starting from October 1, 2015, I am indeed looking forward to administering implementation of the following government policies and guidelines:
1.To propel the policies set by the Royal Thai Government and the National Council for Peace and Order together with policies from Ministry of Interior and different ministries, whose priorities are also being implemented at provincial level.
2.To build on and execute the ongoing project schemes for positive continuity and for the good of the people in Phuket City
In line with this, there are 4 aspects of propulsion that will be specially highlighted:
2.1 Enhancing standard of Phuket City for further development
2.2 Boosting confidence among tourists: Especially foreign markets, where tourists are relatively sensitive to news on safety and security related matters
2.3 Conserving national resources and environment: Since Phuket is known for plentiful national resources, this has automatically become a selling point for Phuket itself.
It is therefore very crucial to take this matter into consideration, which will include sustainable tourism and waste management.
2.4 Administering sustainable development: This issue relates to developing human resources in phuket to be well-prepared in this changing global environment.
Phuket will address the significance of standard of living and introducing proper rules and regulations that fit well Phuket's context.
With confidence, I am very keen to lead the new administration as well as solving problems proactively under a participatory based approach together with joint-hands across all sectors.

Good suggestions/plans of the new governor.
Well, this governor can set a first example by looking into the very bad and sadistic behavior of bouncers of a Bangla Rd night club.
I am sure the new governor by now knows that this filmed sadistic behavior already went all over the world.
Action and publishing about taken action has to be done.
This cannot remain without punishment of these bar bouncers.
