PHUKET: The Governor of Phuket, Jamleran Tipayapongtada, attended the Jui Tui Shrine this afternoon for the Lantern Pole Raising Ritual.
The ritual takes place on the afternoon preceding the nine day Vegetarian Festival.
The Lantern Pole with the nine wicks-in-oil symbolises the NineEmperor Gods and will stay hanging on its pole for the duration of the festival.
