PHUKET: The Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation is considering a suggestion that it take over the Lucky building in the Saphan Hin region of Phuket City as its headquarters.
While the seven-storey building would require 300 million baht to be renovated, consolidating within it would enable the various departments of the PPAO, scattered around various buildings in Phuket City, to be united at the one address.
It's understood the Lucky building has not been used for many years. The history of the building is obscure but it was believed to have been built amid plans for Phuket becoming a duty-free destination.
While the headquarters of the PPAO are located in the grounds of the Phuket Provincial Hall in Phuket City, various administrative arms are in other buildings.
Those proposing the move said that some floors of the building could be rented out to private enterprise to help recover the cost while others suggested that 300 million seemed a lot for a reconditioning operation.

A good NEW place for Immigration in Phuket Town.
