Led by Associate Prof. Dr. Boonmark Sirinaovakul, President and Mr. Gilles Mahe, CEO Laureate Thailand, a special floral bouquet was presented to Maeya who emerged triumphant in the beauty contest which evaluates candidates on their beauty, confidence, understanding of global and social issues and international matters among others.
Maeya, who won the hearts of the judges and audience alike with her personality and confidence, attributed her win to her ability to speak confidently in English.
''I chose to study at Stamford International University as I am aware of the importance of English language. As we know, AEC is around the corner and English language will be very important.
''In the past, I could hardly speak English and was afraid of conversing with foreigners. I challenged myself and chose to enroll in Stamford's International Program as I knew this would push me to develop new skills. I am now far more confident and able to converse much better in English and this will be a tremendous help when I represent Thailand at the Miss World 2014 competition in London at the end of this year.
''The benefits I gained from taking Stamford's International Program have helped me in every aspect of my life, and given me a strong base in English with which I need to succeed.''
Maeya won Thailand's praise with her range of skills and talents which include singing, modeling, exceptional English capability and her professional outlook, which paved the way for her excellent responses to the competition's final round of questions and supporting her achievement of this prestigious crown.
A student of Stamford's International Airlines Business Management course, Maeya went on to say, ''Stamford University has opened many doors of opportunity for me, and I have gained knowledge that I would not have received if studying a purely theoretical course.
''Stamford's programs focus on 'soft skills for the real world' - skills I can use as I grow my career following graduation. I learn from working in team and study activities with friends and teachers from around the world; the faculty is diverse and very experienced.
''I have also met many people from industry within the Stamford network - this has increased my knowledge and confidence in all aspects of life, even in extra-career endeavors such as Miss Thailand World.
''I highly recommend studying at Stamford International University. I guarantee that the Stamford family will take very good care of you.''
Beautiful looking girl and nice to see someone so young with such a bright positive outlook, hope she does well in the finals....
