PHUKET: Two tourists - one Chinese and a Russian - were fortunate survivors after going swimming in too-dangerous conditions on Phuket today.
The Chinese man, aged 20 to 25, was pulled from the surf at Patong about 12.45pm and revived on the beach.
While he was being assessed at Patong Hospital, a Russian woman was rescued from a rip current at Nai Harn, Phuket's most southerly beach.
She recovered quickly and did not require extra treatment.
Lifeguards warn that the weather makes swimming risky at this time of the year.
