Heaven at the Haven for Patong Residents

Thursday, January 31, 2008
LOW-RISE luxury is coming to the island's key coastal resort in the shape of the Haven Lagoon, Patong.

These 54 condominium units, spread over three five-storey buildings, represent ''good location, affordable price and superior-quality finishing,'' says Suchart Khorana, the project developer with Thakrana Development Group Co Ltd.

The project, on Sirirat Road, next to the Phuket Palace Hotel, is just 700 metres from the famous Patong beachfront. And it's also a stroll to the downtown and entertainment areas.

Patong, it seems, has turned the corner and, with the arrival of upmarket resort brands in numbers, is appealing to home-makers and investors alike.

Being sold off the plan, the Haven Lagoon is, Khun Suchart says, already 70 percent bought.

The condos vary in size from 54 square metres to 162 square metres, from one bedroom to three-bedroom, and are partly furnished. Foreign freehold ownership is part of the package.

Each of the three buildings has a glass elevator and occupants share two swimming pools, a gym and a restaurant to complement the esential attractions of Patong.

Prices start from 3.6 million baht and the Haven Lagoon is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.

The outlook for the island is bright, too, Khun Suchart says. ''Phuket will get better in the future as we have more chartered flights jetting in.

''Beautiful beaches, good infrasructure, tropical climate, friendly people . . . this area is more like residential zone. We have Krissana Condo and Patong Habour View nearby.''

He sees more upscale products coming.

''We have the Taj Exotiq (a high-end resort-hotel) and the Jumeirah (a private island development) opening up and with the Royal Phuket Marina already here, it????s a good sign for investment.''
