That's a winner! Chana Sonwiset slots home the Phuket goal tonight

Phuket FC Stays Hot With Dramatic Shot At 93 Minute Mark

Sunday, April 7, 2013
PHUKET: A goal three minutes into injury time delighted a crowd of 5500 in Phuket City tonight and kept Phuket FC on target for promotion to Thai Premier League.

The 1-0 Division One victory kept Phuket FC close to the top of the table after top team Singha Tarua FC lost 1-2 to BBCU FC, the team that still shares second spot with Phuket.

Phuket, with 11 points from five matches, has a better goal average.

At home at Surakula Stadium in Phuket City tonight, Phuket faced up to Ratcha Navy FC. The opposition made it a hard-fought match, earning two yellow cards.

But at the 93-minute mark, Chana Sonwiset slotted home the winner for Phuket, and Phuketwan's photographer caught the action.

That means Phuket has a string of three wins in a row following two draws to start the season.

After the Songkran New Year Festival, Phuket FC plays Nakhonpathom United, in ninth position tonight, on April 17.

Tonight's victory comes with Phuket FC in talks to do a deal with Brazil's Cruzeiro Esporte Clube for future development and construction work proceeding on Phuket FC's own first-rate training facility in southern Phuket.
