Children's Day on Phuket, where the Land of Smiles begins

CHILDREN'S Day brings one of the highlights of the year on Phuket for anyone under 100. There are events of all kinds to rekindle the joys of being young and innocent.

If you happen to be a child in Thailand, then the hope is that the other 364 days are pretty good, too.

Children's Day Events

Phuket Airport

8.30am-3pm Take the turning before the entrance to the airport to enjoy a broad range of activities. Plenty of indoor games. At 9am a show about F5 aircraft, at 10am parachute jumping, 10.30am a door prize draw, 11am rapaeling from a helicopter, Noon firetrucks in action, 1pm Air ticket lottery draw, 2pm Aerial flying display.

Rajabhat University

8.30am-3pm Fairground open. 9.15am, Letter reading from the PM, 9.20am schools join stage performances, 9.45am, presents for children. Projects on display in science, arts, all faculties.

Royal Thai Navy, Cape Panwa

8am-4pm Bangpakong vessel open for inspection, helicopters for inspection, parachuting display, ratings make a salute, sea rescue demonstration, music by Navy band, free meals drinks and presents.

Provincial Hall, Phuket City

<8am-4pm Plenty of activities and fun for children. Fancy sitting in the Governor's chair? Here's your chance, if you are young enough.
