Visa Run Crunch:
I have heard, but cannot verify yet, that two farangs living in Khon Kaen for many years who have ED visas as opposed to tourist visas were refused re-entry at Nong Khai yesterday because they had too many Laos/Thailand stamps in their passports. They were told they must return to their home countries, England and Germany, and apply for long term visa at Thai embassy then, if they wished to stay in Thailand apply for retirement visa on their return.
I have read that this policy would start from August 12th, but if the above example is correct, it has already started.
