The Malaysian government will lead an alliance of insurgency groups from the deep South in preliminary peace talks Wednesday with a Thai team in Kuala Lumpur.

This is a comment of great particular interest. It must be the first time I have seen the Malaysian government even acknowledge the presence of insurgents, having previously denied not only all knowledge but that they could possibly be crossing from their side of the border. Maybe a glimmer of hope for the south.
