Chaos on Patong Hill again as a Post Office truck crashes today

Phuket's Patong Hill Scene of Another Crash: Photo Special

Wednesday, November 20, 2013
PHUKET: A 10-wheel Post Office truck crashed into four other vehicles as it rolled back down Patong Hill heading out of Phuket City this afternoon. The crash came about 2.30pm near the shooting range - scene of a similar roll-back bus crash earlier this month. Rescue workers said that nobody was injured. A saloon car, a minivan and a pickup were among the vehicles sideswiped by the truck. Police were questioning the driver of the truck.

Same place, different day. Gone way beyond a joke now. Time to place a weight limit of vehicles using the hill now. 3 Tons maximum, or kill someone else? Trucks and buses seem to be like the politicians, all huff and zero puff.

I'm lovin' it: Even police on the spot, only the cars on the down lane are 'secured' with some traffic cones. But the oncoming roads, uphill, have to squeeze themselves into one lane. Isn't there someone thinking, eh, that traffic cones between the two directions, merging the two uphill lanes together, before the left turn, could help a bit?
