Opening with a splash: Rawai's mayor Aroon Sorod eyes a new opportunity

Phuket's New Deal: Going Where the Sun Don't Shine

Thursday, September 9, 2010
CAPE Promthep, Phuket's most southerly tourist attraction, now has a new 3.8 million baht one-stop service centre for the thousands of visitors who come to watch the sunsets.

No longer will visitors be looking lost and alarmed and wondering where to hide as the sun goes down.

The new facility has six cubicles for males and eight urinals, and 12 booths for women, along with two designed for people in wheelchairs.

The new block, formally opened on Tuesday by the Mayor of Rawai, Aroon Sorod, and a large number of testers, will be accessible from 8am to 8pm daily, with a standard charge of five baht.

Expect competition around sunset. The Rawai tessaban council has contracted a cleaning firm to ensure the block is kept spotless.

For those who like to know in advance, the new block is near the existing row of shops and souvenir stalls.

3.8 million baht, you could build a nice 200 square meter house for that.
Gold plated seats I guess
