PHUKET: Police on Phuket are hunting a man who early today stabbed his former boss at a conveniece store to death after being sacked.
The killer's accomplice, who prevented the victim from escaping, was arrested today when police were able to identify him from security camera footage.
On the run is a man known at this stage only as Nattapong, who was allegedly helped by Ongart Meekaew, 29, to confront Nattapon Nukul, 26.
Khun Nattapon was stabbed behind the ear with a sharpened steel reinforcing bar soon after.
The pair ambushed Khun Nattapon as he reached home after finishing his shift as manager of the SuperCheap branch in Yaowarat Road, Rassada, about 12.30am.
He rode to his room near a nearby Family Mart where the two men confronted him. As he tried to flee, Khun Ongart cut off his escape with his motorcycle allowing Khun Nattapong inflicted the fatal wound, Phuket City police said.
Investigators believe the murder took place because Khun Nattapong, who also worked at the SuperCheap store, had been told by Khun Nattapon that he was being transferred to the SuperCheap outlet in Patong. He was sacked when he resisted being transferred.
