PHUKET: A young security guard is in a coma and fighting for his life in a Phuket hospital after being badly bashed by a gang of youths last night.
Nattapol Nuawla-Ong, 21, who worked at Sharp in Cherng Talay, was beaten unconscious by about 10 people about 10pm, said Lieutenant Sarit Budnongsang.
The attack took place in Mo 4, Cherng Talay where the young man shared an apartment. Neighbors who saw and heard the beating were powerless to intervene.
Khun Nattapol was taken first to Thalang Hospital then as his condition grw worse, transferred to Vachcira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City.
Police believe drugs were probably a cause of the beating.
