One of the first customers gains attention at Patong Immigration yesterday

Phuket Immigration Reopens Patong Branch in Beach Road

Friday, June 14, 2013
PHUKET: Phuket Immigration yesterday reopened its Patong office, on Phuket's west coast, in response to demand from tourists and expat residents.

The Patong branch on the beach road will save many the time and trouble of having to go to the Phuket City HQ on the other side of Phuket for simply address notifications, inquiries and information.

The Phuket City HQ remains the main office for virtually all visa applications and renewals.

Patong's branch can be found on the beach road near the Impiana Resort. It opens from 10am-3pm with a staff of five, plus volunteers.

I feel sorry for the staff. Imagine all the russians and chinese that now has flooded patong, frusturated when the staff do not speak their language. What a nightmare.

Any chance to park the motorbike next to the building while doing the 90-days-report?

Good news - do you know if it's possible to buy re-entry visas there as well please?

Visa issues are still being dealt with in Phuket City.

Win Win situation if there was a fee payable to the Thai Government at Immigration rather than having to leave the country every 3 months for so many Visas. You can extend 60 days to 90 days so why do so many people have to leave the country. Charge more than the tax on the airfare, going to Ranong the government receives no money. Win Win if it were to change. Someone who has committed a serious crime is not going to leave the country every 90 days so what purpose does it serve aprt from boring people.

Just done my 90 day reporting there today, parked bike at the rear no issues, and they told me to spread the word, CAN do re-entry permit and many other services so I advise anyone to go and see them, the place was empty, no waiting around and how refreshing to be dealt with lots of positive help, advise and smiles from the Thai staff and supervisor, the only slight grumble (principle not cost) is what they charge for photocopies done there in office, 100bt for 3 items which is a lot more than Phuket town but then again worth it for the convenience

Did a 90 day report there today. Very friendly, no photocopy charge and asked to tell folks that they were open again. The staff seemed genuinely happy.
