The Mazda 3 wrapped around the pole: police believe speed was involved

Phuket Driver Wraps Car Around Pole But Lives to Tell Tale

Sunday, December 23, 2012
PHUKET: The driver of this Mazda 3 was lucky to still be alive after wrapping the vehicle around a pole in Thepkasattri Road, Phuket's main north-south artery.

Sitdhipong Raksayod, 36, who lives in the Rassada district of Phuket City, was returning home about 9.15am.

He told paramedics that rain obscured his view, the road was wet and he went straight off the road at the Marktrok Curve in Mai Khao, northern Phuket.

Khun Sitdhipong, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City in a serious condition.

The 'Seven Days of Danger' campaign begins on Phuket and throughout Thailand shortly.

So he couldnt see and still elected to drive, wet roads he still elected to drive without consideration to changed road conditions, demisting heater and wipers working? a requirement of roadworthy, one wonders, single car accident, there's only one person responsible its not a act of inclement conditions its the guy behind the wheel.
