PHUKET: To mark the holy day of Asarna Bucha, celebrating Buddha's first sermon, 111 monks gathered alms as they paraded single file through Patong's Soi Bangla walking street early today under the sponsorship of the Patong Entertainment Association. Today and tomorrow, alcohol sales on Phuket and throughout Thailand are banned. An unusually high number of elections have increased the number of bans in Patong this year.
