Blue Ivy and folks feed the tiger at FantaSea. Now it's their island home

Beyonce and Jay Z Buy Phuket for $7.96m, Says Celebrity News Site

Friday, January 9, 2015
PHUKET: Online reports today say that singer Beyonce and Jay Z were so impressed with Phuket and their Thailand holiday that they bought daughter Blue Ivy the island for her third birthday.

Some confusion still surrounds the purchase. One report says the island is definitely called Phuket but then adds the pronounciation, (pu-kay).

The asking price of $7.96 million seems a little cheap for the Pukay we know and love, rhyming with sweet bouquet, especially as that particular island would come with several hundred tuk-tuks, at least 4000 high-fare taxis and almost 300 jet-skis.

As far as we know, even the best of Phuket's most famous property salesmen would not be capable of sealing such a transaction.

According to inquisitr.com:

''A source told Media Takeout the reason behind the lofty purchase.

''[Blue Ivy] fell in love with Thailand, and so did [Jay-Z and Beyonce]. They thought it was a good investment, and a good [place] to create a new family home.''

Square brackets seem to be increasingly popular. The report continues:

''The island is called Phuket (pu-kay) and can be seen on the Private Island Online site. The going price for the island? A cool $7.96 million.

''The island is described as follows:

'Boasting a gorgeous mountain view, this is a perfect spot for the development of a five-star hotel and features a 120 meter beach front with 40 Rai of amazing, palm tree-dotted expanses. Caressed by the warm trade winds of the Indian Ocean, you're connected to the amenities of life with electric power and water supply readily available. An ancient mansion is on the property, just waiting to be lovingly restored.'''

Sounds to us more like a house in the hills, where many mansions await ''loving restoration.''

Riding elephants and bottle-feeding tiger cubs must have been great fun, not to mention straddling a motorcycle without helmets.

Hello, new neighbors!

We do hope the word ''Tawan'' is not in the title deeds.

There is a private island for sale, called Phuket, near Krabi. It fits the description given above perfectly.
It sounds like the story could be true.
Check Islands For Sale sites.

Ah, the New Phuket at last.

I am not sure just what they bought? Could somebody tell us more please? Did they buy the island only, or everything on it, its police force, the vendors and all the hotels etc? Bit misleading but I am keen to know more. Thank you.

There appear to be two Phukets, the well-known one and the new one.

Also wondering if they set up a Thai company with only 49% shares in order to buy this. Or if it was a 3 x 30 years lease.
I read very often about rich or famous people 'buying' property here, but what does that mean?

*LEASEHOLD* trap.

It is between Koh Yao Yai and Phuket.

It's true, he bought phuket. I just talked to him. Islands name will change to blue-Z-land. Cars will be totally banned from the west coast and replaced by a free Swiss style mountain train. Everything above the railway will be protected natural park. There will be 7000 grab-and-ride-e-bikes for free. Jetski zones will be replaced by shadow zones. Prostitution stays illegal.

Buying property "here" has the same meaning as anywhere else
An enforceable claim or right of title to property or an asset recognised by law subject to completion of contractural conditions. Ie payment, searches to confirm the vendor is the legal owner, the contract represents the property as described.
Legal owner and right of occupation or possession are not necessarily the same.

There are always ways to own land... put it in the lawyer/law firm's name, but it in the business name... Americans can own majority shares of businesses here, too -- and a bit of land...

Yes, Americans are entitled to special concessions.

@Sue: Anybody can find subject material of Instagrams on the net, so what's the point in posting them? I am most certainly not interested. Is it solely your addiction to be associated with people deemed far above your social status, as the likes of Beyonce, Kardashians, Rihanna etc. where you never miss a worthless comment?
Lobstericimus bumbequissimus ??? believed extinct ??? were said to be the most flavoursome, as vouched for by Derek and Clive, aka Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.
I still await your spreadsheet (if you know what that is) regarding off-topic posts. Even though I have been posting comments long before you came on the scene, your posts probably outnumber mine by around four or five to one. The Ed could possibly confirm that.

No time, Pete, for that or human trafficking or corruption. I have to take care of another big issue of the week: spelling.

@Pete

... incl. someone who is a bit IT illiteral, as doesn't know about a function "Word count", that is present in the MS Word since 1995, may have trouble operating IG.
E.g. you are perfectly falling within that scope.

In regard of "Off-topic posts" parameter, that is characterized by % of such posts to total posts posted by a person, I am sure, you are the absolute champion here; it's something very telling about you, and can be analyzed further.
Let's then on later stage look into the concrete figures on your posts in comparison with figures on other posters, incl.me.

@Sue: I assume that your first line means you are illiterate, which fits the bill to a tee.
You come across as an inveterate know all whose comprehension of a topic is virtually nil, in other words you know everything about nothing and nothing about anything, except in the case of name dropping or a cut and paste job from another person's article. Your pretence at being a socialite is exposed by your lack of grasp of the English language and your insulting put downs whenever you are criticised (which is often). I think it is you who needs analyzing. As they say, if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

@Pete

Don't try to put offense as defense on your Championship of off-topic comments; we'll see figures a bit later, they are objective - and it seems that there will be some interesting conclusions on you out of it.

As well in regard of% of histerical comments , you are probably the champion too. This can be statistically counted as well. Remind me mix of market place people with elderly suffering with hypertension.
Logical conclusion would be that you know nothing about anything, but become hysterical about almost everything :))

Since you lack basic understanding or MS Word functionality (or any similar software, nowadays they all +/- are the same), that you didn't get when you was younger - and office suite skills are now so basic and generic like , say, driving a car - it's safe to assume that you're not among Instagram account holders , and even if to my surprise you're , then I afraid you're not very good about navigating it.
Just admit you are behind a time in terms of common basic IT skills, and don't put false pretense about it.

Pete, just admit, it is probably you who is lateral worshipper of showbiz gods?, but trying to disguise it by various means :))

I personally have 0 interest in celebrities, esp.those of showbiz. I don't watchvTV like for 20 years, so occasionally have difficulties in recognizing various anchors , actors , sport team leaders etc., when they are appears for some reason in vicinity .
Sometimes they sprung at resort where I stayed, of the highest profile, probably, being Rambo and his 2m tall wife at one island of TCI, for appr. a week, as they used a common pool, instead of staying in-villa. One dinner we had quite a long conversation, together with other patron, but I must admit it is better when his script are approved by director. He never appeared to a gym, as I hoped to ask him for some fitness advise.
Bill Gates was sitting in one 2 tables afar in a remote restaurant on the main island of Carribean archipelago once known by its highest fax machines number per capita ; I had to wait after the meal 1.5hr for a taxi back from that place .
Someone like you may become too over-excited on seeing thrm, but I consider that just co-incidence and matter of general statistics.

One of my exGF , as well as few other friends ,don't hold IG accounts, but are fans of B. or JZ - so as it is not possible to navigate through IG to full extent unless you have account and the iOS/Android, so I complied some summary on that for them. The info that B/JZ went public on NY night, I've got from people who stayed there after NY - and who in turn got the one from other patrons of the place who were there through NY; and then we looked into IG to see how it was. Otherwise I would unlikely look into IG without such clue.

It was just for to stop your sufferings and to help you to come out of your psychological limbo ;)

@Sue: Enough said. Your comment is way beyond my understanding with your repeated name dropping, now Rambo and Bill Gates and your ex Gay Friends and the rest of you mumbo jumbo. From now on I shall cease responding to such badly composed trash for fear of totally humiliating you. Good bye.

Sue, well I be furled if I can understand the purpose of your last post unless this is your way of trying to be Petes suitor and you think he is just playing hard to get. Is this menage et deux exclusive because it appears to be a player short?

Posted by Manowar on January 10, 2015 19:12

@Pete

Off-topic comment is an off-topic comment, and you are the Champion of that .

Surely, will bring some statistics soon to demonstrate well how much online trash comes out of you in comparison with others, it should be quantified :)) And you are one who might complain the most about "online trash", then champions in production of it himself :D so to say, an uneasy conscience betrays itself :))

Will look as well on share of hysterical comments as it is a quite unique feature of comments produced by you, and whether you put your own statement/facts or just tail someone's comments.

That statistics is expected to be interesting sociological and psychological material for further analysis.

And then I will comment on findings ;)

Manowar, you misunderstood the whole thing: your endeavors to beat Pete on share of off-topic comment have failed, as you're still very far behind (although, I should admit, I failed too) - statistics is about hard facts;soon we will be able to see it.

Although you are completely uncompetitive on hYsTeRIcAL comments scale.

my historical failures are indeed hysterical as are my histerical failures historical but who wants to hypothetically de-hydrate over hazardous happenings of homogenised heffer hydration.
