AN AUSTRALIAN tourist has been found dead in a room at a Patong guesthouse.
Police believe that the 66-year-old man, named in the Siangtai online news site as Joseph Edward Thoms, fell in the bathroom and struck his head.
Staff at the West guesthouse in Rat-U-Tit 200 Pi Road found Mr Thoms in his 500-baht-a-night room about 4.20pm yesterday.
Mr Thom arrived on Phuket on October 2 on a 30-day visa.
Police told
Phuketwan there were asthma inhalers and an old guitar in the room. There were no suspicious circumstances.
Mr Thoms' body is at Patong Hospital.
