Burma
bbc.com China has sent fighter jets to its border with Myanmar (Burma) and lodged a diplomatic protest after a Myanmar warplane reportedly dropped a bomb on its territory, killing four civilians. The bomb exploded in a sugar cane field near Lincang in Yunnan province along the frontier with Myanmar, reports say.
independent.co.uk More than 20 people are confirmed dead after a ferry sank off the coast of Burma but as the search for survivors continues, many fear the authorities don't even know how many people to look for. At least 21 people have died, while twenty seven remain missing after the ferry sank in bad weather on a voyage from Taunggok to Sittwe, capital of the west coast state of Rakhine, officials told Reuters.

straitstimes.com A Tigerair flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was delayed after a prosthetic finger was found on board the plane, Malaysia media reported. Malaysia's The Sun reported that the flight was delayed for two hours at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 after a flight attendant found what appeared to be a severed finger while tidying up the plane.
this is very good. it only takes a few minutes of reading to understand why asean can be no more effective than the european union at least for a few more decades until all of the nonsense is worked out internally between the various constituents.
