Wednesday, January 1, 2014
PHUKET: Fake notes were found stuffed into a toilet at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport around the time a Pakistani man was arrested in the departure lounge for passing forgeries on Phuket, Immigration officials said tonight.

Imran Haider, 30, exchanged 1400 Kuwaiti dinar for 148,000 baht on Saturday on Phuket before the attendant at the exchange booth in Karon discovered the the notes were fakes.

Phuket police used security camera footage to trace his movements to a resort in Patong. Officials nabbed him in Bangkok as he was about to board a flight out of Thailand.

Now back on Phuket, he denies knowing the notes were fake.
