PHUKET: Preparations are underway for commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami on and around Phuket on December 26.

Gospel singing performances will take place around Patong over three days.

The largest of the ceremonies will be at Khao Lak in Phang Nga, the province north of Phuket, on Boxing Day evening. The Prime Minister and ambassadors from many countries are expected to attend.

More people died in and around Khao Lak than in other parts of the Andaman coast.
