PHUKET: HRH Prince William of Wales recently married Catherine Middleton in an elaborate ceremony, and many people throughout the world found themselves glued to televisions, whether they admitted it or not.

On June 21, 1982, there was also a lot of excitement in the British Royal household with the birth of the same Prince William.

To commemorate his birth a special bottle of whisky was produced in limited numbers and presented in a porcelain bell shaped bottle. A well-known local, Khun Weak Naknan, who has collected more than one hundred different commemorative whiskys over the years, is auctioning his precious bottle with the proceeds going to Phuket's Vachira Hospital to help treat patients suffering from alcohol-related conditions.

The auction will be held at Joes Downstairs in Patong on June 21 at 4.30pm. Anyone who is interested in the special bottle is invited.

There will be an entrance fee of 500 baht, which will include non-alcoholic beverages. Khun Weak has said he will be bringing some of his whisky collection for people to sample.

So if you are a whisky lover or a collector of memorabilia, this will be a fun afternoon.
Remember, Khun Weak will be bringing some of his personal collection for sampling.
