What Phuketwan says:
Imagine a little cottage in the country. Color it boldly. Sculpt a few neat wait staff. Then plonk it down in Phuket City and call it Suay. Suay by name, and suay by nature. It's simple yet sweet, cheap and definitely cheerful. But contemporary and bold in its offerings, too. On the night we went, a large group was partying on a verandah yet only a joyous buzz penetrated inside. Somehow it quickly seemed a long way from Phuket City. And from what we saw and tasted, this is a good place to go for both simple food at a good price, as well as a big night out where you can pre-order the kinds of specialties that make for a memorable night. The menu seems pitched to keep happy both the people who always settle for comfort food, and the more adventurous types looking for something different. What would it be like if someone tried to open a trendy country bistro on Phuket? Suay.

How to find it: Takuapa Road runs through Phuket City roughly parallel with Phuket Road.

Parking: Street only, can be competitive.

Phuketwan reviewers pay for their own meals. If we don't, we tell you.
